Wilderness Lodge. Weeks Valley Rd., Wattsburg. Their
phone is 739-2946 Meet in the parking lot of the Lodge
at 9:30am. Daily rate: $15; ski rental is $8. Bring extra

Sunday, February 21: Tubing at Peekn’Peak. Meet at
the Retreat Lodge at Peek n Peak at 4pm. Dress
accordingly. We’ll probably go for food and warm
beverages after. Don’t miss it, we always have a fun
time. Check out their website at pknpk.com. All you have
to do is sit on a tube and slide down the hill. Experience
the exhilaration of flying down a trail specially groomed
for tubing. You even get to ride your tube back to the top
of the slope. The tubing arena is located to the left of

November Events

Sat-Sun 11/ 7-8 Oil Creek – Cow Run- Backpacking
Shelters are reserved; the editor has 1 more shelter still
available. Meet at Walmart, 8:00 am on Upper Peach or
the Titusville McDonalds at 9:30 am. Backpacking and
hike leaves from the Petroleum Center at 10:00 am. Sat
evening dinner will be again cooked and a few dollars
paid to Richard for the food purchased- Chicken and
Rice is on the menu. You will need to plan to bring water
along. Watch your email if you have signed up or

Sun 12/6 Club Christmas Party at Elk Valley Golf
Course, begin at 5 p.m. with an open bar offering pop,
beer and wine. The 3 meat buffet (Baked Chicken,
Meatballs, and Broiled Alaskan Pollock, along with
cheesy potatoes, vegetable, tossed salad) will be
served at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $15.00 a person.
Reservations are due by Tuesday, our November 24

October Events

Sat, 10/3 Autumn Fest Bike Ride 10:00 am. Meet at
the Edinboro YMCA, heading into Edinboro on 6N @ I-
79 Exit. A leisurely fall lunch ride in Tobin country with
visits to Pumpkinvilles, Cidervilles and what not.

Sat 10/3 – Sun 10/4 – Kinzua Paddle – from Sugar Bay
to either Hopewell or Handsome Lake campground.
Meet at I-90 Exit 35 – Harborcreek Travelport at 8:30
a.m. or at Sugar Bay at 10:00 a.m. Bring your camping
gear, food for 2 lunches, 1 dinner and 1 breakfast.
Camping is 10.00 per site, we usually can set up 3 to 4
tents on one site. There is water (pump) and primitive
outhouses. Kayak for about 1 1/2 – 2 hours, set up camp
and still have time for a hike. If you are interested in
going call Dianne S  The fall leaves are usually at their
best at this time and it’s a beautiful paddle.
Sat, 10/10 – Covered Bridge Ride – Ashtabula Country
Covered Bridge Festival Bike Ride.

8:30 am to commute to the Jefferson Commercial Park,
1484 St. Rt. 46 N. Jefferson, Ohio 44047, (Look for Bird

GPS coordinates: N 41 45.876 W 080 45.823 Ride will
be about 40 miles, visiting about 6 or 7 Covered Bridges.
The Bridges will have food and drink for you to
purchase. The ride will be mostly Flat, only one optional

Pumpkin Ride) From Erie, we will meet at Asbury
Woods at 8:45, leave at 9:00 a.m. Commute to
Cambridge Springs and stop at the Kwik Fill to use the
bathrooms, then go to the Land of Lakes Parking Lot at

Sat, 9/5 Linesville Spill Way Bicycle Ride – Ride through the Pymatuning Reservoir Area. Around 30 mi. Meet at Asbury Woods at 8:45 am, Leave at 9:00 am or meet me at the west parking lot in the Linesville spillway area off of Linesville-Hartstown Rd.  We will be using I-79 to commute to the Linesville Area. Sun. 6/7 Linesville Spillway Bike ride. 30 miles, mostly
flat, one small hill. Meet at the Linesville Spillway West
parking lot between 2:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Sunday
afternoon. The roads are mostly low traffic country
roads, with a little bit of traffic in Andover, a very scenic
ride across the Pymatuning Reservoir on Route 285 with

invites club members to participate in The Woodcock
Dam triathlon. Woodcock Dam is just north of Meadville

register to participate. Volunteers are needed to support
this event on land and water. Kayakers are needed for

5/1-3 – Pine Creek Kayak trip This year for a change of pace we are going to try car camping at Leonard Harrison State Park. We will paddle from Watrous to the outfitter on Friday, the outfitter to Blackwell, which includes the gorge and class III rapids on Saturday and Blackwell to Slate Run on Sunday. Sat-Sun May 9-10 – Clarion River kayak trip - Meet at the McDonalds on Route 6 just West of the main drag in Corry at 7:00 a.m. We want to leave right on time so arrive a little early. It’s almost 2 hours from there to Ridgway and we want to get unloaded and the vehicles shuttled as soon as we can in order to get to the good camping sites. If you’d rather, meet us at the Love’s Boat and Canoe Rental, 3 Main Street, Ridgway at 9:00 a.m. directions are easy using Mapquest or Yahoo Maps. We will take Route 6 through Sheffield then pick up Route 666 for 2 – 2 1/2 miles to Route 948 to Ridgway. Remember this is a river overnight trip. What you bring must fit into your kayaks or canoe. Call me if you have any questions. Please let me know if you are coming. If we don’t know you are planning to join us, we cannot wait for you.

*Mon. 4/13 – Presque Isle Cycling Club Meeting-
Rails to Trails Talk – 7:00 PM at Damon’s Restaurant,
7165 Peach St. Guest Speaker- Jim Holden, Pres. of the
Alleghany Trails Association and Erie – Pitts Trails group
will be speaking on the trails system in Western PA and
activities to link the Trials into the Pittsburgh to
Washington, DC Cumberland trail as well as the various
trails existing already.

4/13-15- Paddle Tionesta Creek. We will go to Minister
Creek where we will car camp on Monday morning.
Then we will paddle the west branch of Tionesta Creek
from Sheffield to Henry’s Mill. On Tuesday from Henry’s
Mill to Porkey. On Wednesday from Porkey to Ross
Run. As you are probably aware the water is cold so
wet suits are mandatory. The weather can also be cold
and rainy so you must come prepared. We will figure
out the cooking arrangements when I know who and
how many want to go. Dave C

4/18-19 – Backpacking Wolfkiel, Oil Creek State Park.
Fee is $4pp. We could only get 3 huts, that would be 12
people, but tent camping is open. Yvonne will be
serving Chicken Curry for supper, price TBD. Let Harry
know if you are going ASAP, space is going fast. Meet
at McDonalds in Titusville at 10am or at Oil Creek State
Park Headquarters. Transfer gear and start hiking.

We will take the Ashtabula Greenway Trail to do a GPS
hunt for the biggest Rocking chair^ I have ever
seen.(King of the Rockers) Then we will ride the
Harpersfield Covered Bridge^, which is Ohio second
largest covered bridge. The ride will be mostly flat,
maybe a couple easy rollers. This ride will be about 30
miles. Meet: at I-90 and 6n at 1:30 p.m. ^Waymarks, will
be using GPS to locate them. Bring your GPS if you
